 The worst

about Apple is not the DRM, vendor lock-in or noncompliance with standards. It's the fanboys. I've heard many things from them - how Apple's stuff is superior compared to competitors (even though now they use exactly the same CPUs, HDDS, RAM modules etc as the PC), how iPods sound superior to any other players (actually, newer iPods sound mediocre at best). Seems like Apple's propaganda is causing failures of common sense in people susceptible to marketingspeak. The become brainwashed zealots, willing to protect their master. Sometimes I pity them, and sometimes I just wish there was a way to punch in the face using the IP protocol.

it has the best GUI and it beables you to work faster.

i have a Quicksilver powermac, it looks clean inside.
no cable system like a pc.
where there is a ton of wires bangling in mid air.
a hazerd if you need to add something or remove something.
a question if it still works when you return to turn on the machine.

many people can brake their pc very easy be adding stuff.
ESD is a very common cause of a broken pc.+
just by touching the stuff inside and NOT knowing how to do it right.

my friend and i repair pc's for fun and optimize them, troubleshoot them.
several hundred people have come over our floors.
another friend of me owns a litle pc store.
each and every windows user on this planet has trouble with windows.

but yet people keep buying it.

i have a friend who is MSCE certified, i recommend him to try apple, he was stunned and still is happy today.
(he know and he is a microsoft engineer)

i did the same on a former age of empires friend, another satisfied guy.

apple is exspensive, but if it where cheaper, microsoft would be gone is no time.

they know how to make thing smart, easy.

buy a apple for your granny and she wil be eMailing a couple of minutes later.
it's very intuitive, unlike microsoft windows, with their 'Are you sure','next next next', 'choose location' popups

i want even start about how easy any person can srew your system in less then a second.
the windows registry is a sitting duck.
grrrr

if you haven't tested apple properly, don't talk about it.

p.s. i have a ipod, it's a cool GUI, that's what made it a HIT article, i also have a 10US$ mp3 player.
hahaha , a typical use and trow away article.

This is exactly what I was talking about.

>it has the best GUI

This is disputable at best

>and it beables you to work faster.

How exactly?

>i have a Quicksilver powermac, it looks clean inside. no cable system like a pc.

Do you casually need to open up your computer case? If you make upgrades weekly, I envy your incomes. Besides, brandname PCs (as opposed to home-built) also are clean inside (but that makes upgrading a pain in the arse).

>many people can brake their pc very easy be adding stuff.

I have built all my computers myself, and never has broken a thing by adding "stuff".

>each and every windows user on this planet has trouble with windows.

So true, but the crappiness of windows is not a strong point of OS X

>but yet people keep buying it.

Power of habbit I presume. Plus, they have little choice.

>i have a friend who is MSCE certified, i recommend him to try apple, he was stunned and still is happy today.
(he know and he is a microsoft engineer)

This proves that Apple is just Microsoft nr. 2. A slave does not bother much when his master changes.

>apple is exspensive, but if it where cheaper, microsoft would be gone is no time.

I beg to differ. If Apple products were cheaper, they would lose their "elite" status and lose market share. Diamond rings are so popular cause they are expensive. They have no practical value, just to show their owner is rich. BTW, google for the "iAmRich" iPhone app - it explains a lot.

>p.s. i have a ipod, it's a cool GUI, that's what made it a HIT article, i also have a 10US$ mp3 player.
hahaha , a typical use and trow away article.

Wow! Compare an iPod to a 10 buck crappy noname player. How fair. How about a Cowon? Or an iRiver? These players just blow iPods away.

only those brand pc's made for offices are clean inside.
but you can't use them @ home, because some of them don't have a ACP/PCI express slot for GFX cards.
they are better executed inside, with real copper coolers and higher quality, but not suited for home use.

they have choice, they could pay a litle bit more and save time/money on fixing their pc's.
the addware that sneaked in via internet explorer.

many people are just plain sheep.
the don't know how to use their own computer, but have because everyone has one.
they don't know that windows have a 'quicklaunch bar', because on default it's hidden.
the quicklaunch bar has the 'Show Desktop' button.

so they close each window 1 by 1 in order to reach the the desktop.
(who works faster?)

i high doubt that any is better than ipod or apple.
the design of apple is very tight, so dirt doesn't slip in.
it look better than my nokia n73 and nokie 5800 express music.
they both where 300€ and you can move the litle buttons up/down because they aren't as tight.

besides never ipods have a lower volume, than older, to comply with upcoming laws regarding portable audio players.
the other players just want a litle piece of the market, but pretty much all where build after the first ipod left the shop.

if you read about ipod, you'll see that the first ipod toke a year to develp.
most brand just design their stuff and put it on the market and provides updates later on.
: )

i also have the apple airport extreme, i probaly was the first to own it in this country.
even the power suply has a cooler design than your 'iRiver'.

you can do what you want, i have played pretty much 20 years, with windows and dos.
i'm glad i bought a mac, because i heard the where very good and after 1 hour of use, the first hour, i was inmediatly angry with myself.
having trouble all these year with such a inferior project as windows.

microsoft, a company, that dind't invent anything.
just bought/stole and probably even source open source and assembled their own mashup.
that's faqt.

Not true

Hello? This is not a winblows user gathering. People here use Linux or BSD as their primary OS.

>many people are just plain sheep. the don't know how to use their own computer, but have because everyone has one.

Same can be said about Mac users. For instance, do you know wether iTunes supports Ogg Vorbis and FLAC files? It does not, and there is no easy way to make it (except for a dirty hack). Do you know why? Because they have decided for you that AAC and MP3 is all you need.

>i high doubt that any is better than ipod or apple.

I prefer to discuss the taste of a pineapple with someone who tasted it. Sorry.

>it look better than my nokia n73 and nokie 5800 express music.

These are phones, not music players. You can not compare them to iPods.

If you want to find out about portable players, visit http://www.anythingbutipod.com/

>the other players just want a litle piece of the market, but pretty much all where build after the first ipod left the shop.

Ever heard about Sony Walkman? The first portable audio player EVER? Google it up.

>i also have the apple airport extreme, i probaly was the first to own it in this country.

I do not care about the design. It's a gadget, not a goddamn jewelry. It can look glamorous, but it still sucks.

>microsoft, a company, that dind't invent anything.

True

>just bought/stole and probably even source open source and assembled their own mashup.

True. And the same is true for Apple. OS X is even based on BSD, and Safari's WebKit is based on khtml.

To be honest, I think I'd have bought myself a Mac long ago, but there are two things stopping me:

1)Apple's attitude and market campaigns, which are trying to say that anything that is non-Apple is inferior.

(And they try to HIDE if some of their products make problems! They do everything to avoid admitting it's their fault! Remember the check they wanted to give to the family of the 15-yeard old guy whose iPod exploded so that they say nothing to the press, or how they were determined to remove all threads on their technical support forums regrading the failure of the Nvidia GPUs in their MacBooks? Not to mention TimeMachine 1TB support drives which had !!!1 YEAR!!! warranty, and a great lot of them started breaking about ~1,5 year after purchase! Is this a joke? They were supposed to SAVE the data! (and Apple said that they can only offer a replacement while you pay the price of a new one, and all your data gets removed - one guy posted a solution around the internet how to fix the drive, in fact the HDD was intact, it was the electricity cord which melted because of the heat, it only needed to be replaced))

2)The maniacal zealotry of some of its users, who seem to be completely brainwashed into believing that if you don't use Apple products, you are a "worse kind of man" than them.

Apple and Mac stealing U-N-I-X technology, just like Microsoft stealing Apple's Lisa and OSX GUI, IBM top view concepts, steal Sun Micro-system Desktop workaround concepts and others. Microsoft has cloned the Netscape to became "INTERNET EXPLORER 1.0 for WINDOWS 95" to continue dominating the world. Microsoft steal the U-N-I-X net server technology to become IIS where preinstalled with Windows NT... They both steal other's technology. They both are the leading provider of Anti-virus and other security challenged apps.

I agree completely, blaster999! And the NaturalDemon's reaction only proves your point. What is he doing here, anyway? Has he ever noticed he is commenting on a website meant primarily for GNU/Linux, *BSD, Solaris, etc. users? The fact we hate Apple doesn't mean we hate Microsoft less. It's just the Apple fanboys that seem to be even dumber than the MS ones... :-p

Well put!

Another thing that strikes me is that a lot of my friends running fruitboxes recently have changed to new ones with Intel, and now it seemes like there are a lot of program-hangs and software problems wich is a Apple problem I think as Im running FreeBSD on a PC and NEVER had problems like that.

Anyway, like blaster999 said before.. Brainwash.. =)

Oh, and by the way, if my Grandmother asked me about what kind of OS she wuld choose I wuld rekommend Ubuntu, OS-X SUXX compared to Ubuntu in "easyness" (Yes I have experiance in supporting both).

So conclution: APPLE STILL SUXX!!

apple is the biggest rip off that most people fall for. ipods are way too expensive, macs are way too expensive, they overprice everything just because it is apple. it's stupid. i hate the look of macs and apple products as well. mac is based on unix, linux, or bsd or something (no one yell at me, i don't know which), and they charge for it. and a lot. and the specs of a mac you can get for $1200 you can get for a pc for $700 or less. it's so stupid their whole idea that they are better than everything else, and can charge way too much money just because people are dumb enough to buy it.
