How to convert and Merge Sony FS100 AVCHD to Vimeo

KDE - Jan 14 2014
Question:I shoot some interviews on Sony FS 100 and I need to convert and merge Sony FS100 AVCHD clips to Vimeo. Before that, I want to prepare camera files for editing in Final Cut Pro 7. However, Final Cut's Log & Transfer function seems to crash a lot on my system. And Clipwrap can't work on my Mavericks 10.9.1 at all. Luckily, my friend, Lucy, a photographer introduces me Aunsoft MTS Converter for Mac.

With this program, I successfully convert and merge H.264 AVCHD to ProRes 422. After editing, I produce a master copy of the video and then convert it to various formats for distribution on Vimeo. Honestly, I appreciate the output video quality and the fast batch conversion speed.

Below is a guide about Aunsoft MTS Converter for Mac to convert and merge Sony FS100 AVCHD to Vimeo. Let's take a look!

This conversion program can be easily found via Google with keywords "Aunsoft mxf Converter for Mac".

Part 1: Transcode and Join FS 100 AVCHD to Prores 422

Step 1: Import AVCHD MTS to FS100 AVCHD clips to Vimeo Converter for Mac

Click "add video" or "add folder" to load Sony FS100 clips. You can also directly drag files to the program. The program supports batch conversion and allows you capture images.

Check the "Merge into one" box to merge all clips into one big file.

Step 2: Select export format

Click the "format" and choose the "Final Cut Pro -> Apple ProRes 422 HQ (*.mov)" I prefer to ProRes 422 HQ. You also have other options, including ProRes 422, ProRes 4444, etc.

Step 3: Transcoding settings (Optional)

Click the "Settings" button to adjust output profile settings. Here your can adjust bitrates, encode, frame rate, resolution, aspect ratio, sample rate, channels, etc.

Step 4: Conversion

Click "Conversion" icon to start conversion. With just a click on "Open output folder", you can locate the export converted and merged ProRes MOV easily. Then you can easily edit AVCHD footage in FCP 7.

Part 2: Share merged Sony FS 100 AVCHD on Vimeo

Here you can directly upload edited MOV to Vimeo. Or you can convert ProRes MOV to MP4, MPEG4, AVI, WMV, MPEGPS, FLV, etc that you want for Vimeo with Aunsoft MTS Converter for Mac
